ergion is a privately owned company. In its early stage, it was co-financed by TBG (Technologie-Beteiligungsgesellschaft), which still holds a share in the company. After a restructuring over the last years, the TBG has been re-integrated into the German federal investment bank KfW.
The programs of the TBG and its successors at KfW promote innovative technology start-ups. The investments are made after a thorough selection process that is based on independent expert reviews.
